A mother experiences nine months of carrying her child before she gives birth. This is one of the best times in her life where she feels like she is one with her baby. This song can be interpreted as expressing the feeling of being one with your baby and then watching him or her grow up and make their own life. One of my favorite parts is when the Mariah Carey sings, “Don’t you know you can’t escape me, oh darling cause you’ll always be my baby.” Every mother feels like this; no matter how old her baby gets, she knows that they will always be her baby.
Like Beyonce, JT broke away from N’Sync, another amazingly successful group from the 1990’s, only to achieve greater notoriety on his own. Though he only released one album in the 2000’s, Futuresexx/Lovesounds, that record was a defining moment for pop music of any decade. It catapulted JT to worldwide fame and established his dominance as a master of R&B. It’s hard to imagine pop music without his influence, which seamlessly assimilated the sounds of the 1970’s through the 2000’s and showed just how funky a white guy can be.
A true Lennon/McCartney track (co-written & co-sung.) It’s somewhat unique in that it’s in 3/4 time (or “waltz” time.) Most Beatles (and rock/pop clean playlist in general) are in 4/4 time.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey (1994) Great upbeat Christmas song! This tune has awesome harmonies and great vocals about the holiday season. It gives a good “care-free” Christmas feeling!
Crocodile Rock – Elton John Elton John is one of the all time giants of piano axeg music and has many songs that are requested often but none more than this 50’s style rocker from early in his career. A fun song from Elton with a great sing along part. Sing la la la la la in your highest voice.
Motivation is very important when it comes to teaching children. Unlike adults, children will rarely work their way through something they don’t find appealing in order to achieve a longer term goal. You have to engage their attention and enthusiasm right from the start.
Rock and Roll songs were starting to break into the charts in the early 1950’s here and there. But in 1954 a young kid named Elvis Presley smashed through the top of the charts and finally gave the kids exactly what they wanted. Elvis was ruggedly handsome, dangerously sensual, and perfectly despised by the older generation. His style of performing was something that most white kids had never seen before and when they saw it, they instantly loved it. They wanted more.
Bad Romance is more of a modern song, and if you’re a fan of Lady Gaga’s catchy axeg music and fast hitting beats, this is definitely worth adding to your playlist.
